2011 Africa Games
The Africa Games are held every four years, with the next being held in Maputo, Mozambique in July 2011.
The competing countries are Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros & Mayotte, Congo, Congo (Zaire), Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawai, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Reunion, Rwanda, Saint Helena, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Spanish North Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Western Sahara, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
As a quarter of the world's countries compete at these Games this is an opportunity we should seize.
ARI has lobbied the organisers for the inclusion of Australian football as a demonstration sport. Combined with an information seminar, this is a golden opportunity to introduce our game to more than 50 countries.
