ANZAC Cup match

On April 2006, 2008 people from all over Europe came together to honour the fallen with an Australian football match, known as the ANZAC Cup.

This historic match was played under the rules of 9-per-side, with 6 interchange players allowed.

The two teams were France and the Aussie Spirit.

The French team featured a mixture of French and Australian players, in recognition of the French and Aussie soldiers who fought together on the battlefield. It was a great synergy to have them fighting side by side on the footy field.

The Australian team comprised Australians who live and work and Europe, and who have played an active role in promoting Australian football throughout the region.
