Iceland Ravens
The Iceland Ravens made their debut at the 2009 EU Cup in Croatia, finishing ninth as the Bowl winners (we are immensely proud of that). Iceland won Italy and France to get to the Bowl winners final against the EU Crusaders.
The first coach of the Icelandic Ravens was the national team captain Fridgeir Torfi Asgeirsson but after the EU Cup success Eyjolfur Bjarni Sigurjonsson was appointed head coach in preparation for the 2010 European Championships. Fridgeir took the place as assistance coach and retained the captaincy of the national team.
The Ravens were set to play their first home game ever in 2010 against the Dutch, which Iceland narrowly lost to in the EU Cup, but unfortunately the volcanic eruption of mount Eyjafjallajökull interrupted those plans so Iceland has yet to play a home game in Aussie Rules.
The Ravens participated in the European Championship in Denmark/Sweden in August 2010 and have sent in a letter of intent to participate in the International Cup 2011 in Melbourne.
