Karsiyaka Dockers

The Karsiyaka Dockers AFC is the first club established in order to promote the great game of Australian Rules Football in Turkey and to be the founding club of a national competition.

There are a few reasons why we picked this name. Karsiyaka is a northern suburb on the shores of Izmir which is a major port city of Turkey. In other words Karsiyaka is pretty much similar to what Fremantle is regards to the city of Perth. Also Karsiyaka is host to one of the most prestigious sporting and soccer clubs in Turkey, KSK (Karsiyaka Sports Club). The club's colors are green and red which is another feature of Fremantle and most players come from the shipping industry, which is pretty much inline with the club nickname.
