Fort Lauderdale Fighting Squids

In April 2005 a group of Australians met in Downtown Fort Lauderdale to discuss the formation of an Australian Rules Football Club based in South Florida. The plan for the new club was to make it a social and sporting club where people for not only Australia, but the whole world could meet and enjoy the social aspect of a true Aussie Football Team

Our Mission is to put together a team to play against Tampa and Sarasota in the Florida Metro League, with the intention to send players to the National Championships as part of The Florida Redbacks. While playing is our first intention, we also hope to surround ourselves with a group of people who love a beer, socialize and enjoy everything that make living in South Florida the best place in the United States.
